Houston is a city of crowned jewels, and Tweed Smith is no exception. In fact, she is a diamond mine all her own. A native of Houston’s Historic 5th Ward, Mama Tweed is a diva in all the right ways. She is constantly using her beauty, love, humility, and divine confidence to uplift, empower, and encourage others.

Tweed Smith is an Aquarian water bearing, walking whirlwind. I am a daughter of Oya...I would know. Not only that, Mama Tweed is a music legend among us. From Wild Honey to being the only woman to sing in the world-famous group War, she is a natural mother figure to all she collects to connect, in between blazing stages of her own, of course. With the wisdom of her experience, she nurtures our gifts. In this all-new segment, we open the scope to share more of her wisdom with the world!

222.9 The Mothership Internet Radio welcomes Tweed Smith in her new segment, In the Whirlwind with Mama Tweed! In this segment, she shares musical memoirs, inspiration, divinity, and wisdom we all can apply to our lives! It will air every Windsday at 12:30pm CST. This is an audio only segment (for now) that will air on rotation 3, Mercury and Uranus ruled Wednesdays! It is infused with some exotic mothers old school groove in veneration to the Orisa Oya...get it? Whirlwind?

In Aquarius Season of 2022, Mama Tweed and I did an interview about her journey. Listen to it HERE to get a taste of what to look forward to in the upcoming segment! Also, learn more about Mama Tweed, read this article from the MoSHows website!
