Earnest Diaz is a veteran in the fashion industry with over 30 years of experience. His love for sewing began at 5 years old by watching his mother sew clothes for their family. Earnest’s mother laid the foundation which blossomed into a flourishing designing career.  His talent has taken him all over the world designing custom pieces for European Royals, entertainers and professional athletes.

The key to Earnest’s success is versatility.. His design experience covers many areas from bridal gowns, bespoke suiting, costumes, and even western wear. While other designers specialize in certain areas of design, Earnest welcomes the challenge because “Every challenge is an opportunity to learn—By embracing unfamiliar directions and teaching myself the skills needed to bring an idea to life, I have continued to grow as a designer.”

For Earnest, fashion design has led him to develop his other talents such as music, art, and film making. His success kept growing but life has a way of bringing us back to Earth. He began to question himself after experiencing the loss of family and friends. Earnest channeled that energy into developing his life’s work title “The Thankful Series” which is a multidimensional project that “reflects the process of finding meaning and strength in life’s most difficult moments.” Earnest used his creativity to process his emotions and heal. He can look back at those challenging periods, not with sadness but with appreciation for life.

Today, Earnest Diaz is a 7-time Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts recipient and an award winning filmmaker. His art has been exhibited in prestigious museums such as the Louvre in Paris, France. His story reminds us to never limit ourselves and embrace the opportunities that life throws at us even if they are difficult.
