World premieres, legendary choreographers, and star-studded gala highlight DTH’s electrifying NYC season.

For more than five decades, Dance Theatre of Harlem has redefined ballet with its powerful performances and commitment to excellence. This April, the iconic company returns to New York City Center for a homecoming season that promises to captivate audiences with a mix of world premieres and beloved classics. The season highlights include Robert Garland’s soulful Return and the New York premiere of The Cookout, alongside William Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and George Balanchine’s Donizetti Variations. Adding star power, the Vision Gala will feature Ava DuVernay, Ben Vereen, and D-Nice, with a special oration by Janai Nelson. From dazzling choreography to cultural storytelling, DTH’s 2025 season is a must-experience event that continues the legacy of founder Arthur Mitchell while pushing ballet’s boundaries for future generations.
